People in Context
Taking interesting photographs of people requires a subtle approach. The images in this gallery are candid shots. In each, I attempted to preserve a moment when subjects were engaged with others and/or with their environments. I ask my subjects for permission when I can; other times I try to be unobtrusive. Many times, I make meaning about the people I photograph through a story or narrative. Viewers of this same photograph may make their own meaning and create a different story. I hope that at least one of these images evokes either a feeling (rather it be happiness, thoughtfulness, curiosity or sadness) or a thought about your past, present, or future. And I hope that one of these images will remain with you after you leave this gallery.
