The Magic of Water
During childhood summers in East Texas, I swam at our local pool. My first non-pool experience occurred at Rocky River Ranch, a camp near Wimberley, Texas in the Texas Hill Country. I spent over 12 summers swimming and canoeing on the Blanco River. I became fascinated by and devoted to the peace and power of that river: swimming and canoeing for recreation; sharing fun times; seeking solace; finding quiet and spiritual comfort. Since that time, I have sought water to re-kindle those past connections with water and to build new ones. For each of places I visit, I search for opportunities to spend time in natural environs, whether it be near or on a pond, bayou, swamp, stream, lake, river, bay or ocean. I love to observe the water itself, discover the flora and fauna around and within it, and to listen to its sounds. The images in this gallery represent the variety of my experiences of the magic of water.
