Out and About in East Tennessee

In 2021, my photography partner, Tom Owens, and I began a project, spending a morning or an afternoon in each of several small towns in East Tennessee. Our goal was to photograph interesting scenes and capture local culture and activities. This gallery is inspired by our experiences visiting Oliver Springs, Loudon, Lenoir City, Clinton, and Dandridge. We loved walking the streets and driving through the outskirts of the towns. We always took time to visit the local restaurants and coffee shops!  We met some interesting individuals during our travels. In this gallery I also included images that we took on our many explorations of Knoxville and Maryville, the towns in which we reside including walking through UT Gardens and downtown Knoxville and enjoying the Maryville Greenway. A couple of images from trips with my husband, Phil, include Roan Mountain State Park, the Buckhorn Inn, and traveling through Benton, TN on highway 411. This project helped sustained my photography during and after the pandemic.
